I know this can be overwhelming; however, with a  good plan it can be done. The best way is to declutter one room per week.

1st week – Living Room

Use basic furniture only: Sofa, coffee table, bookshelf, and end table. Have a storage system that works. Keep toys in decorative boxes and trunks since they can be used as side tables too. Now, let’s focus on the coffee table; a clutter hotspot, usually littered with remote controls and magazines. The solution? Organize items with decorative bowls, bins or trays.

2nd week – The Kitchen

Throw out items you don’t use anymore — old pots and pans, blunt knives and the like. Here, the junk drawer is a clutter hotspot so get rid of all items that don’t belong there. Clutter solved.

3rd Week – The Entry Way

Put hooks on the wall. They will keep your floor from being a dumping place for bags and coats. In this area, the shoe rack is a clutter hotspot. And the solution? Tuck shoes and other items in a storage bench. That way prying eyes won’t spot them.

4th Week –  The Bathroom

Clean up cabinets by throwing away these items: Out-of-date medicines, old make-up, unused lotions, and empty hotel shampoo bottles. Counters are a clutter hotspot in this room. Here’s the reasons: for accessibility, we put beauty products on the counter. Unfortunately, this adds up to the clutter and so what’s the solution? Put beauty products in a decorative basket. It’s a beauty and helps make cleaning super easy.
