Dove has been campaigning for what real beauty is since 2004. Their goal is to educate and inspire women worldwide to widen their definition of beauty and to make them more confident about themselves. They say, “feeling beautiful is a choice we make every day,” but women barely use the word beautiful to describe themselves. Also, girls all over the world are so concerned with the way they look that they do not participate fully in their daily activities. Dove wants to make beauty a source of confidence, not anxiety. Society wants you to believe your beauty depends on the way you dress and how you look when you leave your house. For example, if you look in magazines or at famous people, you mostly see slim bodies in perfect clothing and make-up. They try to sell you expensive cosmetics by putting up pictures of professionally groomed people. They set the standard impossibly high. But when you walk through a city, how many women really look so ‘perfect’? This video shows you that you have a choice. Every day, you can decide you are beautiful. True beauty is not decided by anyone else, but yourself. It does not matter how you look. It is about how you feel and how you want to express yourself. So now it is up to you to decide. What is beauty really about to you? Does it matter what you think about yourself? Does it matter what others think of you? Do you think you are beautiful? Which door would you go through?
