Did you know that we aren’t the only species that give each other gifts? In fact, spiders, kingfishers, and chimps all share gifts with each other frequently. In this infographic, found on Gone Digging, a site that specializes in gifts, we are asked the question most frequently asked around birthdays and Christmas: is it really the thought that counts? Well, it turns out that it actually might be! The featured studies include some insight into giving, charitable behaviours and how they affect how are brains work and how we feel. According to studies of neurological behaviour, our brains react a lot more positively to giving gifts than receiving them! Do you prefer receiving gifts or giving them?
