When that happens, take a look at the free Android app called “Timy Alarm Clock” (unfortunately, it’s not on the iPhone’s App Store). This clever alarm clock app might seem pretty basic at first glance. Indeed, it offers all of the basic features found in your phone’s stock alarm, such as a snooze button, the option to set multiple alarms, and the ability to play your own sounds and music. Its interface even looks remarkably similar to that of the iPhone’s clock application, which means it’ll be a breeze to use. What sets Timy Alarm Clock apart from other options is that it forces you to be active right when you wake up. When your phone begins to blare at six in the morning, you can either choose to hit snooze (which lasts for 10 minutes), or you can play a little on-screen game to dismiss the alarm. That’s right, this alarm clock doubles as a game! What better way to start your morning? Basically, all you have to do is “annoy” a cute little animal character that will appear on your screen next to the snooze button. You do this by pressing it in several key areas. It’s a simple game, to be sure, but also a nice way to ease yourself from a state of sleep to a state of semi-wakefulness. If you don’t play the game, you can’t dismiss the alarm (I suppose you can keep pressing snooze, but you’d probably find that to be a chore eventually)! Are Timy Alarm Clock’s unique features tempting enough that you’d stop using your current alarm? Let me know in the comments! Featured photo credit: Untitled/Alex via flic.kr
